Greensboro College

Katie Allegro (Statesville, NC /West Iredell ) has been a versatile student athlete at Greensboro College. In addition to having a notable Spring season in tennis, she has been Pride women's soccer team's starting goalkeeper for the last two years.

Allegro even dabble in basketball last year. She was a member of the 2008-09 Pride team that went 27-3, 18-0 in conference and was honored last month.

Through April 1, she had a 7-5 record at the tough #2 singles spot for The Pride. She and teammate Michelle Lemmons (Apex, NC/ Apex ) have a .500 record at #1 doubles.

"Katie did not have much competitive tennis experience before coming to Greensboro College," said Coach Dave McCain. "She has worked hard and developed into an upper echelon player in the USA South."

A junior exercise and sport studies major, Allegro has one more to add to her impressive resume.
