Coach Dirk Fennie to Speak at Carolinas Junior Golf Event

Head Greensboro College men’s golf coach, Dirk Fennie, is scheduled to speak at the Carolinas College Golf Night on Saturday, January 21, 2012.  Fennie will join fellow speakers and head coaches, Ryan Cabbage (UNC-Charlotte), Terrance Stewart (UNC-Greensboro), and Jason Cox (Director of Junior Golf for Carolinas Golf).  The event will be held at Mid Pines Inn & GC in Southern Pines, NC.

The educational seminar is designed for parents and their junior golfers to learn about the recruiting process and to discuss the transition from a junior golfer to a collegiate golfer.  Fennie will speak on the topics of junior golf resumes and golf at the NCAA Division III level.

"It is a great opportunity for me to guide young golfers to better market themselves to college coaches and find the right place that suits what they may be looking for in a college golf experience,” said Fennie. "I am excited to talk to the junior golfers about Division III golf. North Carolina and the southeast is the strongest region for Division III golf and offers a competitive experience that equals and may possibly surpass some of the DI and DII schools in terms of travel, competition and the experience of playing for a NCAA Championship."

The Pride golf team will open up its spring campaign on March 5-6 at the Huntingdon's Wynter Nationals in Montgomery, AL.
