Swimming Preview/Pride Packs the Pool! (1/23-1/29)
After picking up two big victories over Emory & Henry and Guilford on Saturday, The Pride women's swim team will take to the pool for two meets this weekend. The men, on the other hand, will return to the pool after having a week off with a single meet. Friday's home meets will mark Senior Day as well as Pride Packs the Pool! The Greensboro women are 6-4 on the year while the first year men's program are 1-3 overall.
Upcoming Meets
Friday, January 27 - Women vs. Guilford and Hollins - Men vs. Hampden-Sydney (PRIDE PACKS THE POOL! 6:00 p.m.) -- Friday's home meet at Reynolds Pool will mark Senior Day and Pride Packs the Place. The women will host another double dual meet with Guilford and Hollins while the men welcome another first year program in Hampden-Sydney.
The Pride women have already butted heads with Guilford three times this year, easily defeating the Quakers on each ocassion, including a 57-28 win on Saturday. Greensboro also beat Guilford 60-32 on November 5, as well as the ODAC Relays on October 22. The Quakers are 1-7 on the year, picking up their lone win over Ferrum, 44-39, on Friday.
The Pride are also familiar with Hollins, having faced off on October 29. Hollins handed Greensboro a 57-37 defeat on that day and also edged The Pride at the ODAC Relays. Hollins is currently 7-4 on the season.
The men will square off with Hampden-Sydney for the first time this season. The Tigers have competed in only one dual meet this season, coming up on the short end of a 77-61 decision to Randolph-Macon on November 5.
Saturday, January 28 -- The Greensboro women's swim team will have its first back-to-back meet test when it travels to Sweet Briar. The Vixen have competed in eight dual meets this season, placed fourth at the ODAC Relays and finished first at the Fairmont State Invitational.
Saturday's meet marks the final regular season meet of the year for Sweet Briar and The Pride leading up to the ODAC Championships.
