Cross Country Squares off with Top Competition at Greensboro Invitational

The Pride men's and women's cross country teams competed with Division I and II schools on Saturday at the annual Greensboro Cross Country Invitational.  The meet was held at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro, NC.

Andre Porter recorded the top finish on both sides in 59th place, clocking in with a time of 34:54.88.  Lance Albritton finished the 8K course in 39:06.04, Keegan Lax crossed the line in 40:16.47, Matthew Moscatello had a time of 41:53.71, while Nick Ceglio rounded out the top five in 42:44.38.

Also finishing for the men was Clifford Barnett in 43:34.20, John Downs in 48:09.37 and Jonathan Deming in 52:41.11.

Andrienne Terrell led the women with a time of 27:55.94 on the 5K course.  She was followed by Leah Holle in 27:56.43, Amanda Mienhardt in 27:59.61, Anne-Marie Green in 29:44.11 and Megan Whitcomb in 33:36.17.

Virginia Commonwealth won the 11-team men's field with 34 total places while Northern Kentucky took the 13-team women's field with 32 total places.  The Greensboro men finished with 319 places while the women concluded the day with 349 places.
