Action Plan you will receive the following
benefits:
Early Financial Awards, Scholarship Consideration for Honors Day,
Priority
Registration for Fall Classes and Preferential Housing
Selections.
There are no binding terms or special fees to the Early Action
Plan. It is simply an advantage given to those students who
are serious about an education at Greensboro College.
FINANCIAL AID
Greensboro College is committed to assisting students and their
families in securing the resources necessary to make an education
affordable.
More than 85 percent of all Greensboro College students receive
some type of financial aid through the use of institutional,
federal and state funding in the form of scholarships, grants,
loans and employment (work-study). Students may receive
financial assistance through merit based aid (based on academic
achievements and extracurricular activities), talent-based aid
(special scholarships given for music, theater and art) or need
based aid (dependent upon a families need for
assistance).
Although opportunities for merit and talent-based aid are
determined upon acceptance (larger awards may require special
interviews or auditions), need-based aid can only be determined
when:
--a student applies and has been officially accepted
--the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has
been received
--the Greensboro College Financial Data Sheet has been
completed.
ACADEMICS
Greensboro College prides itself on the academic
environment that is created for our students. With over 26
majors to choose from, the decisions are endless. In
addition, many of our students will choose to double major and/or
minor in a secondary subject just to expand opportunities for
themselves upon graduation. Our academic standards have built
a solid reputation that will help you after your Greensboro College
days, whether you go on to graduate school, or enter a professional
job field.
Our classroom size is approximately a 16-1 ratio. All classes
are led by professors and
professionals in that particular field of study, each holding an
advanced degree or considered one of the best in their chosen
profession. Each professor knows your name and will get to
know you as a person on an individual basis. You will not be
just an ordinary student, but a voice that makes a
difference.
Outside of the classroom, our students can take advantage of the
multiple opportunities that exist. Involvement in any one of
our 40 school clubs and organizations is a choice that you will
have. In addition, we offer internships, and international
study and honors programs. At Greensboro College the choices are
endless when it comes to your education
Our faculty members are first and foremost teachers. They are
here to help you whenever, and with whatever you need. If you
ever find yourself getting confused, lagging behind, or
generally needing assistance, each professor is eager to help.
Greensboro College also offers students free, individualized
tutoring in every subject through our PEAK services. The PEAK
(Power to Expand Academic Knowledge) is our center for academic
services. The PEAK offers academic resources, tutoring, learning
disabilities support, academic advising, and study skills
workshops.
For more information about the PEAK--and Greensboro College's many
other value-added resources for our students--please see the
