Mitch Fastenau joined The Pride staff in June of 2011 after spending three years at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
In his first year at Greensboro College, Fastenau was instrumental in the redesign of the new athletic website, www.greensborocollegesports.com. Among his responsibilities include updating and maintaining the athletic website; working with the media; managing gameday staffing; handling statistics, streaming and archiving; and overseeing various special events such as Hall of Fame and the end of the year Athletics Convocation.
During his time at West Virginia Wesleyan, Fastenau handled the
sports information and promotion duties for the largest
athletic department in the state of West Virginia; consisting of 19
varsity programs. In addition, he helped initiate and launch
the live stat and streaming programs.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Fastenau also
earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration from West
Virginia Wesleyan.
Prior to his stint at West Virginia Wesleyan, Fastenau spent a
year working with the Iowa Energy, the NBA Development League
affiliate at the time of the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.
Among his duties with the first year organization
included developing corporate partnerships and promoting
season and single game group ticket packages. Fastenau
helped the franchise set an NBA Development League single game
attendance record.
Following his graduation from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
Fastenau also spent time as a business intern with the Hagerstown
Suns, the Class A baseball affiliate of the Washington
Nationals.
Fastenau is originally from Des Moines, Iowa, and now resides
in Greensboro.
