Members of the Circle of Pride-Greensboro College's athletic booster club-provide support and encouragement for the Pride's intercollegiate NCAA Division III (athletic scholarships are not permitted) athletics program. Founded in 1972 by Fred I. Joseph and Michael B. Fleming, as the Hornets Nest and subsequently changed to the Circle of Pride, the club has sustained a growing and extraordinary athletic program over many years by providing funding, in kind donations, and facility improvements for the student athletes.

The College's athletic program has grown from four men's teams in 1966 to sixteen men's and women's intercollegiate teams today. Additionally, Pride athletics supports cheer leading and a certified athletic training program. Approximately, a third of all students enrolled at the college participate on one or more of the teams. While competing throughout their season, our student -athletes also give significant time each year to community outreach and excel in the class room as demonstrated by the large number who qualified for the USA South Conference Honor Roll Team by earning at least a 3.0 GPA.

Donations to the Circle of Pride funds a variety of items that are not covered by operating budget, such as all team and end of year special awards for our 350 + student-athletes, athletic trainers and cheerleaders; all Hall of Fame expenses; all publications and mailing expenses for athletic communications; extraordinary travel expenses for teams that play in out-of-region venues; and a variety of special needs that crop up throughout the year. The Circle of Pride also organizes the annual Jim Locke Amateur Golf Tournament, a fun-filled day of golf and camaraderie.

By supporting The Circle of Pride with your tax deductible membership and/or gifts, you join a growing number of individuals and business partners who recognize the importance and value of NCAA Division III non-scholarship college student-athletics. Your donation will directly impact the student -athletes!
