Baseball Adds Alex Zapata to 2012 Recruiting Class

Head Greensboro College baseball coach Matt Aker announced the addition of pitcher Alex Zapata to 2012 recruiting class.  A four year varsity letterman for the West Broward Bobcats, Zapata has put together a stellar career while pitching in a competitive area of south Florida.

The right handed pitcher appeared in ten games - starting six - as a senior, posting a perfect 5-0 record to go along with one save.  In 42.0 innings of work, Zapata recorded a 2.00 earned run average with 31 strike outs.  

Overall in final two years on the mound, he went 8-1 with two saves.

Zapata will join The Pride in the fall of 2012.
