Position: Quarterbacks/Running Backs/Special Teams

Erik Westberg, a former NCAA Division II quarterback, enters his second season on staff at Greensboro College.  After coaching the defensive backs and special teams in 2011, Westberg will oversee the quarterback and running back positions in 2012.

Westberg has a diverse collegiate coaching background, highlighted by stints at The Apprentice School, UNC-Pembroke, Lane College (TN) and Guilford College.  Among his previous duties have included coaching the defensive line, linebackers, defensive backs, and special teams.

In 2010 at The Apprentice School, Westberg coached three All-Conference honorees.  Under his tutelage, First Team defensive tackle selection James Lee tied the all-time single season school record for tackles for loss with 18.  Westberg also helped the Lane College defense finish 15th in Division II in 2007.

In addition to his college experience, he has had stops at North Brunswick High School in Leland, NC and Pulaski County High School in Pulaski, VA.  As a wide receiver and defensvie backs coach at Pulaski, Westberg coached former North Carolina State standout wide receiver and current Cleveland Brown Owen Spencer.
