Men's Basketball Preview (11/28-12/4)

The Pride men's basketball team will return to the hardwood on Saturday, December 3, when it travels to LaGrange for a 2 p.m. showdown.  Greensboro is coming off of an 89-77 victory over Piedmont on Sunday.  Six players, including all five starters, hit double figures in scoring as Brock Moorman led the way with 24 points.

Upcoming Fixtures

Saturday, December 3 at LaGrange (2:00 p.m.) - The Panthers enter the week with an overall record of 2-4, and have dropped their last three games.  LaGrange will look to rebound on Wednesday when it travels to Emory before hosting The Pride on Saturday. 

The Panthers kicked off the season with a 77-59 win at home against Oglethorpe.  After suffering a 99-86 defeat to Hampden-Sydney, LaGrange bounced back to win its next game against Concordia (AL).  The three game slide, however, started on November 22 with a 96-65 loss at Birmingham Southern, followed by a 107-89 defeat against Emory and an 83-68 loss to Oglethorpe.

Three players are averaging double figures in scoring for the Panthers.  Joey Anderkavich paces the attack with 15.0 points per game.  He is followed by Marcus Vaughn with 12.0, Denzel Robinson with 10.3, and Aaron Power with 10.0.  Vaughn leads the team in the rebounding category with an average of 4.5 per contest.

As a team, LaGrange is averaging 76.3 points per game on 46.2% shooting from the field, including 36.8% from three.  The Panthers are 1-0 on their home floor this season.

Greensboro is 4-0 overall against LaGrange with the last meeting coming on December 5, 2010 in Greensboro.  The Pride rolled to a 47-23 lead at halftime en route to a 90-56 win.  T.J. Holman had a game high 20 points for Greensboro in the victory.
