Bryan Galuski enters his eighth season as men's basketball coach
at Greensboro College in 2012-13.
Galuski is the winningest coach in GC men's hoops history with
95 career wins. Since taking over in 2005-06, Galuski has
compiled a record of 95-91.
Galuski and The Pride are coming off an 18-10 campaign, which
saw the team advance to the USA South Tournament finals.
One of his best seasons came in 2007-08, when The Pride
advanced to the USA South Tournament finals for the first time in
10 years. The 2006-07 team finished 20-7, and shared the USA South
regular season championship. It was GC's third conference
championship, and first since the 1984-85 campaign. The Pride
also earned its second straight USA South player of the year
award.
In his first year with The Pride, Galuski guided the team to a 12-13 record, which matched the best season since the 1994-95 campaign. The Pride recorded a 7-5 record and a third place finish in the USA South Athletic Conference.
Overall, Galuski has helped tutor 11 USA South All-Conference players, including two USA South Player of the Year award winners. His 2008-09 squad earned the USA South Sportsmanship award.
Galuski arrived at GC after spending seven seasons as an
assistant coach at Eckerd College--his alma mater. The Tritons had
five NCAA tournament appearances, and set a program record with 25
wins in the 2002-03 season during his tenure at EC. Eckerd also
reached the NCAA Division II Elite 8 and captured the South region
championship that same year.
Galuski graduated from Eckerd in 1998 with a degree in business
administration. As a senior, he led the Tritons and was sixth in
the Sunshine State Conference in scoring, averaging 14.7 points per
game. He also ranked eighth nationally with 2.95 steals per game.
Galuski was an instrumental part of the 1994-95 team that won an
SSC championship, and the 1995-96 team that went three games into
the national tournament. Galuski was a two-year captain and named
to the SSC First Team All-Conference and made South Region
All-American.
Galuski is among Eckerd's career leaders in scoring, rebounding and
steals. He finished his 112 game career 19th in school history in
scoring with 811 points, fourth in steals with 154, fifth in single
season steals with 54, and seventh with 379 career rebounds.
In addition to coaching The Pride, Galuski is also an
accomplished speaker, making numerous speaking appearances each
year. A member of the NABC, he also travels to Belgium
annually to run camps and coaching clinics.
A native of Latham, N.Y., Galuski is a graduate of Shaker High
School. He and his wife, Julie, live in Greensboro. They have
a daughter, Madelyn, and a son, Bradyen.
Bryan's brother, Mike, was a member of The Pride men's basketball
team from 1998-00.
