Men's Golf Ranked Number One in Golf Digest National Division III Preseason Poll

The defending national champion Greensboro College men's golf team will open the 2011-2012 season as the top ranked  team in the nation by Golf Digest.

Head coach Dirk Fennie and The Pride garnered ten of the 14 first place votes and finished with 327 total votes.  St. John's (MN) came in at number two with 324 total points and two first place votes.  Fourth ranked cross-town rival Guilford received the remaining two first place votes.

Greensboro capped off a magical 2010-2011 run with the program's second national championship.  The Pride held off a late rally to pull away for a six-stroke victory at the Grandover Country Club in Greensboro, NC.

Greensboro will begin its title defense on September 25 with the three-day NCAA Fall Preview at Mission Inn Resort in Howie-in-the-Hills, FL.
