Novicki and Hudgins Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars

Greensboro College men's golfers Scott Novicki and Joshua Hudgins were recognized as Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars on Tuesday.  Overall 26 players at the Division III level received the national award.

Both Novicki and Hudgins were major contributors in The Pride's USA South Championship and NCAA Tournament run.

Novicki represented Greensboro in eight meets and 22 total rounds in 2012.  The highlight of the season was taking home the individual title at the USA South Championship with a three day score of 219 (73-72-74).  Overall, Novicki recorded four top 20 finishes with an average round for the season of 76.3.

Hudgins competed in all ten meets and 27 rounds of the year, accumulating an average round of 75.6.  Hudgins placed in the top 20 six times and put together three top ten finishes, including a fourth place mark at the USA South Championship.

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 77.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
