Men's Golf Earns GCAA Team Academic Award
The Greensboro College men's golf team was recognized on Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for their excellence in the classroom. The Pride were one of 125 universities and colleges nationwide to earn the 2011-12 Team Academic Award as presented by Farmers Insurance.
To be eligible for the award, each team must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher for all players on its official squad list. Overall, 27 teams at the Division III level submitted qualifying GPA's.
Greensboro recorded an overall team GPA of 3.393.
This is the second time in the past week that The Pride have be recognized for their academic success. Scott Novicki and Joshua Hudgins were recently named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars.
