John Trice was hired as the men’s soccer coach at
Greensboro College in December 2010. Trice arrived at GC after
spending the past three seasons as an assistant men’s soccer
coach at High Point University.
“We are very excited about John Trice leading our men’s
soccer program,” said Pride Athletics Director Jean Lojko.
“With his experience, personality and enthusiasm, I am
confident he is the right person to guide The Pride back to
regional and national prominence.”

98) and has reached 14 NCAA Tournaments. GC produced .500 or better
seasons from 1986 to 2008.
Working under Head Coach Dustin Fonder, Trice helped revitalize the
HPU men's soccer program. The Panthers won a program-record 16
games and a Big South regular season championship this year. The
2010 Panther team also excelled in the classroom as it posted a
grade point average above 3.0 and earned NSCAA Academic Team
honors.
Trice served as the recruiting coordinator for HPU men’s
soccer and assisted with practice planning, academic advising and
scheduling. He was largely responsible for the Panthers’
highly-rated 2009 recruiting class.
Trice came to HPU after serving as assistant coach at the College
of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. While there,
Trice assisted in leading the men’s soccer team to an 8-6-4
overall record, going undefeated in the Patriot League (4-0-3). The
Crusaders earned the Patriot League regular-season
championship.
The Chattanooga, Tennessee, native is a 2004 graduate of James
Madison University where he was a four-year letter-winner, two-year
starter and served as captain for the Dukes. Trice was a member of
the 2000 and 2001 NCAA tournament teams as well as the 2001
Colonial Athletic Association All-Tournament team. He was a
three-time Verizon Scholar-Athlete and heavily involved in the
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Trice also has served as the director of coaching for the Piedmont
Triad Futbol Club for the past two years and was previously on the
North Carolina ODP Staff.
Trice resides in Thomasville, North Carolina.
