Walk Off Grandslam Dooms Softball Against Concordia (CA)
Concordia (CA) hit a walk off grandslam in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Greensboro College softball team 5-2 in game one of a doubleheader on Monday. The Eagles completed the sweep with an 8-0 victory in game two.
The Pride loaded up the bases in the first inning and struck when Jackie Nicholson ripped a liner to left field to score Brittany Teer.
Concordia knotted the score at 1-1 in the third before Greensboro regained the lead at 2-1. The Pride limited the Eagles to five hits but were unable to fend off the last inning heroics.
The walk off win jumpstarted the momentum heading into game two for Concordia, who improved to 34-2 on the season with its 28th and 29th consecutive wins.
Greensboro falls to 10-8 on the season with the losses. The Pride will return to USA South action on Sunday with a doubleheader at North Carolina Wesleyan.
