Chip Simms enters his tenth season as a Pride assistant softball coach in 2012.

The dean of GC softball assistants, Simms has been a key part of The Pride's recent success. He helped the 2010 team to its first USA South championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament.

The 2007 Pride softball team finished a program best 32-10 record. In the 2006 season, Greensboro placed second in the USA South Athletic Conference (11-3). GC also advanced to the conference tournament championship game for the first time.

Simms daughter, Jennifer, was a standout player for The Pride from 2004-07.
