The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team will look to get back on track with two home games and cross-town rivalry game this week. The Pride dropped their season opener at home on Sunday to York, 17-5. Greensboro will head across town to face Guilford on Wednesday before facing Agnes Scott on Saturday and LaGrange on Sunday at Pride Field.
Upcoming Games
Wednesday, March 9 at Guilford (4:00 p.m.) -- The Pride will hit the road for the first time this season against cross-town rival Guilford. The Quakers are 2-1 on the season with all three of their games being decided by a combined three goals. Guilford defeated Marymount in its most recent game on Saturday, 15-14.
The Quakers are averaging 14.0 goals a game compared to 13.67 for opponents. Guilford converted 41 of their 61 clearance attempts and are 3-18 on free position attempts.
Lily Colley and E'leyna Garcia are tied for the team lead in points with 16 apiece. Colley has nine goals and seven assists while Garcia has 13 goals and three assists. Also chipping in is Summer Frazier with ten points - nine goals and one assist. In goal is Liza Mettler, who has a save percentage of .446.
Saturday, March 3 vs. Agnes Scott (11:30 a.m.) -- The Scotties have had a tough start to the new season, with an 0-2 record entering the week. Agnes Scott fell in the season opener to Augustana at home on February 22, 19-5, before suffering a 12-6 setback to Reinhardt on Saturday.
The Pride beat the Scotties 23-5 in the lone conference meeting between the two teams last season. Agnes Scott returns 11 players, including Alicia Logan, who led the USA South in goals with 59.
Sunday, March 4 vs. LaGrange (11:30 a.m.) -- Afer having its season opener against Augustana (IL) cancelled, LaGrange dropped its first game to Dallas, 14-10. The Panthers have a busy weekend, hosting Alma on Friday before road trips to Ferrum on Saturday and Greensboro on Sunday.
Kelsey Griffin was the top scorer for LaGrange against Dallas, notching four goals. Chelsea Totaro made 18 saves in goal while taking the loss.
