Slow Start Costs Women's Lacrosse in Season Finale

Lynchburg outscored the Greensboro College women's lacrosse team 17-5 in the first half en route to an 18-6 win on Wednesday night.  The loss came in the regular season finale for The Pride and snapped a two game winning streak.

Melissa Gallaher and Michaela Sandoval helped Greensboro rebound from an early 2-0 deficit with back-to-back goals that tied the score at 2-2, just 2:30 minutes into the contest.

Lynchburg scored the next four goals before Brittany Ziobro added a goal to her two early assists that narrowed the gap to 6-3 with 22:11 to go in the first half.

It was all Hornets from that point on, as Lynchburg finished the half on an 11-2 run to go into the break on top 17-5.

Despite trailing by 12 goals, The Pride came out strong in the second half, battling to a 1-1 tie, with the lone goal coming from Ziobro to open the half.

Greensboro finished with 15 total shots, 11 coming on goal.  The Pride collected 12 total ground balls and won 11 draw controls.

Greensboro wraps up the regular season at 5-8.  The Pride will face the Elon Club Team in a road exhibition on April 10 in preparation for the USA South tournament.
