ROCKY MOUNT, NC—The Greensboro College Pride women's lacrosse team returned to their winning ways on Sunday afternoon defeating the Battling Bishops of NC Wesleyan 23-4. Kirstin Norris continued leading the offensive attack finding the net seven times in the contest.
The Bishops scored the first two goals of the game, however the Pride came roaring back taking a 11-2 lead after 11 unanswered goals. Wesleyan was able to add one more goal in the opening period, but Greensboro was able to take a 17-3 lead into the break. The Pride had seven different players tally points in the first half as Norris, Nadya Fedun, Amira Khatib, and Alexa Besch each had multiple goals in the frame.
The second half proved to be much of the same as the Pride tallied six more times in the second period en route to the 23-4 victory.
Greensboro held a commanding 37-9 advantage in shots, and 20-8 mark in the draw control category.
With the win, the Pride improve their overall record to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in USA South play. The Pride women's lacrosse team will return to action on Tuesday afternoon as Farmingdale State comes to Pride Field. The first draw is set for 4:00 PM.
