Women's Soccer Adds DeCinto and Albinson
The Pride women's soccer team recently gained the committments of two players. Andie DeCinto of Merrimack, NH and Elle Albinson of Bowie, MD have paid their deposits and are set to step foot on campus for the 2012 season.
DeCinto, a product of Merrimack High School, started all four seasons on the varsity squad. She earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2008, was an All-Star in 2008 and 2009, and was recognized on the Honorable Mention All-State Team in 2008.
DeCinto also played club soccer for Stars of Massachusetts from 2003-06, where was she named team captain for two out of the three years. From 2006-08, she helped lead FC Puma to state three times, advancing as far as the semi-finals. In addition, she competed with the Massachusetts ODP from 2005-2010, as well as NEFC from 2009-2011.
"Andie is a strong goalkeeper who will add great depth to that position," Spooner commented. "She has very good fundamentals and communicates well. I am looking forward to the competition between our goalkeepers that will ultimately benefit our team."
Albinson played high school soccer at Bowie High School. She was a captain and starting defender on her team that went undefeated in conference play and was a County Champion and Regional finalist.
During her career, Albinson garnered numerous honors including Defender of the Year, All-County, and All-Star Team Most Valuable Player. She was a four year high school letter winner. Albinson also led her club team to the Premier Division title of WAGS Spring 2011.
"Elizabeth (Elle) is a feisty defender who I believe will contribute right away to our program," said head Greensboro College coach Ian Spooner. "She defends very well and has great speed but also likes to get involved in the attack."
