Women's Swimming Competes in First Meet as an ODAC Member

The Pride women's swim team competed in their first meet as a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) on Saturday in the ODAC Relays.  Greensboro finished 7th out of 9 teams at the meet, in a competition where conference powerhouses, Washington & Lee and Randolph-Macon dominated.

The team finished with 109.5 total points through 10 events, which was good enough to defeat cross-town rival Guilford College, who finished with 75.  The Pride had several very impressive individual performances, including a second place finish in the 3X100 Yard Medley Relay.  To make the victory all the more impressive, Greensboro was the only school other than Randolph-Macon to finish second in any event.  Meet champion Washington & Lee finished first in every event, while Randolph-Macon finished second in all, save the 3X100 yard medley relay.  Emma Phillips, Dani Horne, Taylor White competed in the event.

The Pride's next best finish came in the 3X50 Yard Breaststroke Relay.  Greensboro finished third behind W&L and Randolph-Macon.  Phillips and Horne were again involved in the race, as well as Lauren Fisher.  Greensboro successfully completed each of the other eight events and finished between 5th and 7th.  Full race results can be found at http://www.generalssports.com/sports/wswim/2011-12/Files/Results_-_ODAC_Relays_2011.htm.
