Andy Smith took over the men's and women's tennis programs at Greensboro College in August 2012.  Smith brings extensive head coaching experience to Greensboro - having coached at the Divison I and II levels.

Smith's most recent head coaching experience before joining The Pride came from 2006-2009 as the head women's tennis coach at Division I North Carolina A&T.  Prior to his time at North Carolina A&T University, Smith was the head women's tennis coach at Division I Georgia State University from 2002-2005.  He also served as the head men's and women's tennis coach at Gardner-Webb University from 1995-2002 - where he helped transition the programs from Division II to Division I.

During his time at Gardner-Webb, Smith guided the program to two NCAA Division II National appearances on the women's side.  Under his watch, the women's team advanced to three consecutive Division II East Regional Championship matches, including victories in 1999 and 2000.

Both his men's and women's teams at Gardner-Webb were National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament finalists in 2002.  His men's squad earned the NCCAA National Championship in 2001.

In addition to his coaching experience, Smith has also held the role of NCAA site representative at various Division I regional tournament locations.
